Christine Schoper

Yoga Teacher

Christine began her study of yoga from a small paperback book in 1988.  Her love for the practice drew her to study with a variety of teachers over the years. In September 2012 she was invited to participate in a 200 hour Kripalu yoga teacher training. Upon completion she began offering classes. In March 2020 she completed an additional 500 hours of training with Tias & Surya Little, creators  of  Prajna Yoga  followed by a year long training with Kaila June creator of Interdisciplinary Movement and Somatics. She also maintains a daily meditation practice with years of study in the Shambala and Insight traditions. Woven into all of her classes is a deep understanding of the healing process after 29 years working as an RN and 23 years as a licensed massage therapist. Her motivation for teaching yoga comes from a desire to pass along the deep joy as well as physical, emotional and spiritual renewal that comes from a regular yoga practice.

Rose Allen

Qigong

Rose Allen discovered the powerful healing practice of Qigong in 2005. She was enthralled with the simple, slow movements as a method of empowering herself and gaining balance in all areas of life. She relocated to study at the MogaDao Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2011, immersed in four years of deep study. Inspired to share this incredible self-healing tool, she earned a teaching certification. While at the Institute, she also studied yoga, internal alchemy, meditation, gong fu, tai chi, and life from a Daoist perspective. Rose has since worked with other Qigong Masters and continues her own deep practice and never-ending study of the art of Qigong.

Heather has been teaching yoga since 1991. Her love affair with yoga began at the age of 19 in the Iyengar method, with its strong focus on alignment and keen attention to detail. While traveling throughout India in her late twenties she began to explore the multiple branches of yogic philosophy. Her practice today is influenced by Tantric philosophy as she finds inspiration through communing with nature, parenting, poetry, and dance.

Ellen Falconer

Mindfulness Meditation Instructor

Ellen Falconer has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2006.  As her skills in bodywork grew, she became increasingly curious about understanding the mind and its relationship to pain, and how the human has the capacity to suffer, become anxious, depressed, and gradually lose the precious quality of joyfulness as time goes by.

By means of satisfying her curiosity and to better support her clients with (chronic) pain, Ellen has had deep training as a mindfulness teacher with additional certification to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction/MBSR.

Ellen is trained as a body-informed (somatic) life coach, following her certification in Mindful Awareness in Body-oriented Therapy/MABT in 2019. Ellen is eager to be a compassionate companion in your quest for well-being, as a massage therapist, mindfulness teacher and credentialed Somatic life coach.

She is excited to co-teach a 5 Sunday course with Brianna Noach, L.Ac, LMT, MSW. Brianna has worked in the healing arts for over 40 years.

George Sawyer

Qigong

Diagnosed with burnout in 2015 in Silicon Valley, George used Dragon & Tiger qigong to recover.

George first learned about energy and qigong while living in Tokyo in 1986. Moving back to Boston, he began teaching Japanese martial arts and also studying qigong, meditation, and inner alchemy with Mantak Chia from 1987 to 2002, earning three teaching credentials. In 2010 he began the study of neigong – internal skills - with Bruce Frantzis, earning his first teaching credential in 2020. He has also done a lot of Daoist, Japanese, Yogic and western breathwork.

George is not a natural athlete, is a terrible dancer, and had a hard time learning to feel energy. That is why he so appreciates the effectiveness of Taoist teaching methods like “begin with the easy, progress to the difficult.

Heidi Mattern

Sing for Joy

I have worked as a teacher, Nia dance instructor and life coach. Above all I love to sing, and to share the joy of singing with others. I carry a repertoire of songs that help a roomful of people connect to body and soul, and to each other. Songs are learned by ear. These songs help heal our hearts, lift our spirits, and remind us we are part of the natural world.
